For me Firefox is quite stable in RAM usage until it suddenly it's not and starts hoarding it. I imagine it's probably some memory leak. When that happens, a browser restart fixes it. In Chrome, usage is always more expensive per tab/content in my experience, finding it less stable overall and faster growing per tab.
