WebSep 5, 2011 · The Ion is a wonderful 2-Way tower loudspeaker that has been designed to produce a very warm and natural sound. It achieves this by using a pair of Audax HM170CO woofer-midranges drivers with a TangBand 25-1372SC tweeter in an TMM configuration and using a 3rd order crossover point at 4000Hz. WebNov 15, 2016 · The woofers are Dayton RS225-8 8" in a sealed cabinet. My question is should I prefer to design crossover for a 3 way or 3.5 way with a single inductor for BSC? The room size is 10 feet by 25 feet dimensions, so I'm not positive if full BSC is required. There may be other design considerations that could come from the discussion.

WebFeb 13, 2014 · The crossover must be designed with a mindset for performance through this transition region. In the transition region, where high and low drivers are playing the same frequencies simultaneously, the interference between the transducers influences the loudspeaker’s angles of coverage, or polar pattern.
WebCrossover Design In a multi-driver loudspeaker, each driver is chosen because of its favorable operating characteristics over a specific frequency band. To ensure that the drivers are not subjected to signals outside of their specified frequency band, it is necessary to insert a set of filters, called a crossover, in the signal path.
